Marella Escapes was created by Marco and Gabriella, inspired by a shared love of beautiful places and thoughtful living.

Their story began at university in Bristol, where they first fell in love with British architecture—spending weekends wandering the Georgian streets of Bristol and Bath, admiring the craftsmanship, proportion, and timeless elegance of the era. That appreciation for character and heritage only deepened when Marco’s professional rugby career took them to the Cotswolds.

What started as simple weekend adventures soon became a way of life. Long walks and bike rides through rolling countryside, always keeping an eye out for the next chocolate-box village, sparked a deep connection to the region and its homes. The Cotswolds’ quiet beauty, historic buildings, and sense of escape left a lasting impression.

Eventually, Marco and Gabriella made the decision to put down roots in the Cotswolds, with a clear vision: to find characterful properties in their favourite towns and villages and thoughtfully restore them for modern living. Marella Escapes is the result of that vision—carefully curated homes that respect original features and unique details, while offering contemporary comfort, warmth, and ease.
